Wow! Läste ni om Lise Autogena (Himlen är blå, blåare, blåast)? Nu har jag hittat ett nytt fantastiskt projekt, av konstnären David Ruth som just nu tillbringar fem veckor i Antarktis, dokumenterat i hans blogg:

My project in Antarctica is to gain understanding of ice and its relationship to glass. With the assistance of Art Quinn, I will be gathering ice textures and photographs in order to bring them home and translate into icebergs of glass.

Liksom Autogena har Ruth en inspirerande sponsring, via The National Science Foundation, Office of Polar Programs:

The purpose of the Antarctic Artists and Writers Program is to enable serious writings and works of art that exemplify the Antarctic heritage of humankind. In particular, the program seeks to increase public understanding of the Antarctic region, including the continent and the surrounding oceans, as well as the associated research and education endeavors.

På Ruths blogg kan man också betrakta fantastiskt vackra bilder över landskapet och mängder med bilder från maskinrummet och annat på båten. Allt ser så välvårdat ut att man kunde trott det var en leksaksbåt :-) Mer om David Ruths glaskonst här.

Bland tidigare stipendiater fäste jag mig speciellt vid skulptören Gabriel Warren vars hela produktion är inspirerad av is. Vilken fantastisk konstnär!!! Njut av hans konst här.
